Our half-day preschool program for 3-5-year-olds helps children grow and prepare for kindergarten in a caring, group setting. Ideal for children who are comfortable with their toileting routines and new to group learning, the program follows the BC Early Learning Framework. It nurtures curiosity and builds important skills like problem-solving, emotional regulation, and critical thinking. Educators focus on each child's interests, creating opportunities for independent and group learning.
The classroom is a bright, inviting space filled with rich, open-ended materials that encourages creativity and exploration. In this flexible environment, children take part in activities that help them build social skills, creativity, and emotional confidence. We focus on practicing transitions to help children feel more comfortable with the routines they will experience in kindergarten.
"We have had an amazing experience at the Early Learning Society preschool! The teachers are truly exceptional—they are caring, patient, and always made learning fun and engaging for our child. The outdoor space is fantastic, offering plenty of room for the children to explore and play, which has been a huge part of their development. The teachers pay attention to what the children are showing an interest in and create learning opportunities to nurture their curiosity. My daughter was excited to go every day and made the nicest friends that we are still in touch with. We couldn't be happier with the nurturing environment and the wonderful community at this preschool!" ~Katie Bickerton
In addition to a fun and hands-on learning experience, children enjoy a nutritious snack and hot lunch each day. Sharing meals with friends helps build social connections and a sense of community. Through play, discovery, and shared meals, our program ensures children feel confident, independent, and ready for kindergarten. Your children will enjoy connecting with educators Katie and Kyna, who have decades of experience between them!

Socio-emotional learning helps preschoolers develop essential skills like understanding their feelings, managing emotions, and interacting with others. Activities like sharing, taking turns, and problem-solving with peers support these skills. When children practice these behaviours, they build confidence, learn to handle challenges, and form positive relationships with others—skills that are crucial for a smooth transition to kindergarten and future success in school.
As preschool-aged children prepare for the move to kindergarten, mastering transitions plays a crucial role in their readiness for this new chapter. Learning to navigate transitions smoothly helps children develop essential skills such as self-regulation, flexibility, and time management. Whether it's transitioning from one activity to another, moving between different environments, or adjusting to new routines, mastering transitions fosters independence and confidence. By practicing effective transition strategies in preschool, children build the resilience and adaptability needed to thrive in kindergarten and beyond.
