Our school-aged program is designed to meet the needs of older children (5-12 years), focusing on critical thinking, independence, and social-emotional growth. Through hands-on projects, group activities, and discussions, children delve into topics that spark their interest and curiosity. Pro-D days and summer programming include fun field trips and long-term projects, offering opportunities for discovery and community engagement. Visits to local museums, parks, and nature centers help children connect what they learn to the real world. With the support of our educators, children are encouraged to express themselves, ask questions, and pursue their interests in a fun, supportive environment.
During elementary schools days: children can participate in our morning and/or afternoon care programs.
ELS Kamloops Main Campus does walking pick up and drop off from Lloyd George Elementary and Kamloops School of the Arts. Due to the overwhelming demand from children graduating from our 3-5 program, we do not maintain a waitlist for September through June.
Sun Peaks Early Learning Centre has 10 spots allotted to care for school-aged children on their Friday's off from school. We are currently taking waitlist names for this program.
Older children in our program engage in deeper more complex projects, make more decisions, engage in teamwork, interact with the community more frequently, think critically, develop leadership skills, and often apply their learning to real life.
