In our 3-5 year program, children have a strong voice in their learning. At this stage, children are developing key skills like problem-solving, emotional regulation, and critical thinking. Educators listen closely to children’s interests, creating opportunities to expand their knowledge. With guidance, children explore independently and collaborate with peers, fostering creativity and critical thinking.
Our bright and engaging learning spaces encourage curiosity and small group work. We focus on smooth transitions between activities to help children develop routines and adaptability. Self-help skills like independent toileting and managing personal belongings boost confidence and independence, preparing them for kindergarten. Additionally, children enjoy field trips to parks, art galleries, and museums, broadening their experiences and learning beyond the classroom.

Kamloops is blessed with an abundance of local community learning spaces. Through regular outings to museums, art galleries, libraries and city parks, children experience hands-on learning opportunities that enrich their understanding of the world around them.
Children love science as much as we do! Our Society is committed supporting the development of fundamental science skills. Through engaging projects like kitchen chemistry experiments, owl pellet explorations, the Stream to Sea Salmon Fry initiative, and butterfly larvae hatching, we provide opportunities for children to develop a deep appreciation for the natural world.
Every child has the right to rest, as documented in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. We understand that rest is essential for a child’s growth, well-being, and ability to learn.
Our approach to naptime is child-led and flexible. We provide quiet activities for children who prefer not to nap, allowing them to rest peacefully on their bed. However, if a child falls asleep on their own, we respect their need for rest by allowing them to sleep until they wake. If parents are concerned about their nighttime routines, we will attempt to wake the child after 30 minutes. This approach ensures that all children have the opportunity to recharge, while also catering to individual sleep needs and preferences.
